It's hard to believe that it's the last week of November! We enjoyed our Google Expedition, and experienced augmented reality with dinosaurs, DNA strands, and forces of nature! This week, students created a mini poster of a US Landscape of their choice (Rocky Mountains, Great Lakes and MIssissippi River, Pacific Mountains and Valleys, Intermountain Region, The Eastern US, or the Interior Plains. Throughout all subjects, we practiced writing with C.E.R. (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning). Our weekly reading skills are point of view, drawing conclusions, Greek/Latin root words, and complex sentences. In math, we are still working with decimals.

We are very excited to announce that Google Expeditions is coming to our classroom on Tuesday, November 21st! Our students will participate in an exciting expedition to find out more about DNA and RNA. Stay tuned to find out what we learn!
We lucked out with a great, crisp fall day for our nature center field trip! Groups had a blast discovering the habitats of Illinois - Prairie/Grassland, Forest/Woodland, and Wetland. Did you know that wetlands are home to 90% of Illinois' animal species?
Need help deciding what to cook for Thanksgiving this year? Leave it up to our fourth graders! Each student designed a menu with a budget of $40 to feed 6 people! The creativity is impressive and everyone managed to do it by adding and subtracting decimals while shopping for the best deals. Happy Thanksgiving!
